He’s going to explain to us that giving in to temptation is far more serious than we suspected….In 1:2-11, James presents trials as something to be endured, while in 1:13-14 he presents temptations as something to be avoided. Trials are external pressures put upon us (1:2-3); temptations are internal desires that exist within us (1:13-16)…”
